A New wave of Literary Elevation

Our primarily focus is on publishing author portraits: single volumes in which in-depth interviews and essays give an overview of the authors work, artistic growth and development, both personally and technically. These biographical insights are combined with literary, bibliographical and cultural suggestions of the author, pointing the reader to what inspires him or her artistically.

Twice every year we publish ‘The Sea Change’, an overview of the best prose and poetry the editors receive, either from their own contacts or from direct submissions to the Sealand Literary Supplement to Life. The Sealand Literary Supplement to Life owes its name to the Principality of Sealand, a self-proclaimed sovereign state based on a sea fort some ten kilometres off the coast of Britain. We choose this micronation as the symbol for our literary endeavour for two reasons.

Firstly, with our publications, we would like to create a sort of ‘little kingdom in the sea’ ourselves. A heaven of peace and quiet. A retreat for both writer and reader in which creativity and inspiration can bloom fully, far away from the hypes and crazes of the modern world. Nothing but the sea, the sky, the silence and your deepest inner thoughts and ideas…

Secondly, this little country’s history reads as an ode to imagination itself. A great adventure story in which fact and fiction blend seamlessly together. A postmodern fairy tale complete with Royalty, sea battles and modern marketing techniques. The history of Sealand proves that Reality is what you make it.

Not only we will tell you if your submission is suitable for publication in the Sealand Literary Supplement to Life. But we will provide you also with a thorough reading report of your text, based on the expert opinions of two to three reviewers. In this report we will make sure the accent is put on providing you with tips and suggestions to develop as a writer and improve yourself as a creative artist.

As you can imagine, it takes considerable time for our reviewers to prepare such a file, so to keep these valued  ladies and gentlemen happy and motivated, we will ask a small fee for submitting your work in the very near future. But since we have just started the Sealand Literary Supplement to Life we think it is only reasonable to waiver this fee.
